Turmeric, derived from the root of Curcuma longa, is a popular spice known for its active component, curcumin, which is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties. With its warm and bitter flavor, turmeric is commonly added to curry powders, mustards, butters, and cheeses, not only for its taste but also for its potential health benefits. Turmeric has been used in ancient times as a medicine and in culinary arts. In Hinduism, no auspicious occasion is complete without turmeric, whether it’s a wedding or a religious ceremony. The use of turmeric has been continuous since ancient times, not only in culinary arts but also in natural remedies.
Not only dried turmeric but raw turmeric also holds immense benefits. It contains antibiotic compounds, which contribute significantly to the production of various beauty enhancers such as antiseptic and antibiotic creams, Vicco Turmeric cream, etc.

Beauty Enhancement
For problems like pimples, acne, dryness, wrinkles, darkness, etc., finely grind a little raw turmeric, mix it in a paste with sandalwood, yogurt, rose water, and neem juice. Before applying, wash your face thoroughly with lukewarm water and apply the paste. Remember to clean your face with cotton wool or a clean cloth only after the paste on your face has dried well.
Beneficial for Injuries and Sprains:
Mixing turmeric with milk and drinking it when there are external or internal injuries provides relief to the body. It cleanses the blood, preventing clotting after injury, thus reducing pain and preventing the spread of infection. Due to the antibacterial and antiseptic properties of turmeric, it inhibits bacterial growth.
Weight Control:
Turmeric is beneficial in reducing body weight by reducing fat in the body. Every morning on an empty stomach, drink a glass of lukewarm water mixed with turmeric and honey according to taste. This will reduce weight and keep you healthy.

Take half a teaspoon of this powder twice a day, morning and evening, and massage your teeth with a mixture of 8-10 drops of mustard oil. Problems related to teeth such as sensitivity, shaking, and toothache will be relieved. Additionally, mix 2 teaspoons of turmeric with half a kilo of yogurt (without cream) and consume it 3-4 times a day.
For Wounds:
Applying turmeric powder to a cut stops the bleeding and prevents infection.
Benefits of Turmeric and Honey:
• Drinking a teaspoon of turmeric powder roasted in a mild fire with honey alleviates throat congestion and coughing. Additionally, taking 8-10 grams of gooseberry juice mixed with honey every morning and evening helps with coughing.
• If there is back or headache, drinking a teaspoon of ground raw turmeric mixed in a glass of warm milk provides relief from body pain. Use honey for sweetness.
• In diabetes, consuming a mixture of turmeric and fenugreek seeds in water in the morning is very beneficial.
Before sleeping, drinking turmeric milk has benefits:
• Drinking a teaspoon of turmeric with a glass of warm milk before bedtime strengthens the bones and controls asthma.
• Mixing 3 grams of turmeric powder and 2 grams of rock salt, and drinking it with lukewarm water provides relief from gas problems.
• If you have a burning sensation in your stomach, sour belching, or acidity, consuming turmeric with black raisins resolves the gas problem.
Licorice: A Precious Herb
Licorice is a highly beneficial plant provided by nature, and its use has been continuously employed in the treatment of various diseases since ancient times. Licorice appears brown from the outside and yellow from the inside, with a sweet taste. According to Ayurveda, licorice is useful in eliminating doshas such as Vata, Kapha, and Pitta from the human body due to its effective properties. Consumption of licorice helps in healing ulcers, cancer, and digestive disorders.
Patients with thyroid issues often feel fatigued quickly and become tired easily. In such cases, consuming licorice is highly beneficial for thyroid patients. The elements present in licorice balance the thyroid gland, providing energy to the body. Licorice is an Ayurvedic gift used in the treatment of many dangerous diseases. As much as possible, licorice should be included in the daily routine of people of all ages.
